Party Poker Hosting WPT Montreal Satellites

The Party Poker WPT Montreal satellite series runs from Monday, August 5 to Sunday, November 24, awarding as its top prize seats in the WPT Montreal main event that takes place November 29 to December 5, 2013 at the Playground Poker Club.

The Party Poker WPT Montreal Satellites take place every Sunday during the stated promotional period, starting at 8:50 pm CET (2:50 pm ET), with 1 prize package guaranteed to be awarded at each running of the event. The WPT Montreal Satellite has a direct buy-in of $250 + $25 but players can avoid that cost by winning their seat in the event through a WPT Montreal Satellite Qualifier.

These events take place every day at the same times listed above for the WPT Montreal Satellite, with an additional running of the event taking place on Sundays at 6:50 pm CET (12:50 pm ET) as a Turbo tournament event. The direct buy-in for the WPT Montreal Satellite Qualifier is $27.50 + $2.50 but players can avoid that cost by winning their seat in the event through a WPT Montreal Sub Qualifier Speed event with a $3 buy-in or a WPT Montreal Sub Qualifier Speed Rebuy event with a $1 buy-in and rebuy. Both events take place as sit ‘n’ go tournaments throughout the day.

Players can even win their seat in the Sub Qualifier (at least the $1 rebuy version) through a WPT Montreal Freeroll costing nothing at all to enter. The 25 top players from each running of this event will move on to the $1 sub qualifier speed rebuy event.

Bovada Poker Hosts Punta Cana Poker Classic Satellites

Bovada Poker invites players to win seats now in the upcoming 2013 Punta Cana Poker Classic, taking place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in the Dominican Republic between November 12 and 16, and featuring a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. Cheap seats into the satellite series start at $0.44, leading to a quarterfinal with a $2.75 direct buy-in, which in turn leads to a semifinal with a $17.60 direct buy-in, which leads, finally, to the Punta Cana Satellite itself, which you can buy into directly for a $270 direct buy-in.

Bovada Poker will post the winners of every Punta Cana Poker Classic prize package during this satellite series on its website for all to see.

Americas Cardroom Launches New Software Update

888 Poker Holds WSOPE Paris Satellites

The World Series of Poker Europe is coming to Paris, France, and you can win a seat in the big event at 888 Poker now, with grand prize packages valued at $17,000 each, including a seat in the WSOPE Paris Main Event.

Every other week, on Sundays, 888 Poker is holding another WSOPE Paris 2013 Qualifier, for a $500 + $25 direct buy-in, awarding at each one at $17,000 grand prize package to the WSOPE Paris Main Event.

Players can avoid that direct buy-in by winning their seat in the qualifier through a Step Three satellite taking place Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 6:05 pm GMT for a $105 + $10 direct buy-in.

Or players can win their seat in the Step Three satellite through a Step Two Satellite, each taking place the same days, two hours earlier, for a $23 + $2 direct buy-in. Poker Stars Finds New Jersey Casino Partner

Formerly the undisputed king of its game, Poker Stars has recently suffered some tough times and has of late been bouncing back with some difficulty from the foils of Black Friday, April 15, 2011. Among those troubles was a rapidly closing deadline to file for a permit with the state of New Jersey to offer online poker legally to residents of the state. The holdup was Poker Stars’ inability to land a deal with one of the land-based casinos in the area: not a requirement for entry into the NJ online poker game, but certainly a foot in the door, and one which its biggest competitors had already taken.

The land based casino that has facilitated Poker Stars’ entry into New Jersey’s fledgling online poker industry is Resorts Casino Hotel, according to a statement released by The Rational Group which owns Poker Stars.

Resorts is also partners with Margaritaville and Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. Founded in 1978 and the first U.S. Casino to set up shop outside of Nevada, the Resorts Hotel and Casino in New Jersey is situated right on the Atlantic City boardwalk. This prime location is sure to be a boon for Poker Stars now as well.

Recently Poker Stars was in talks to strike up a similar deal with the Atlantic Club Casino but that never saw the light of day.

Now that Poker Stars was able to hop on Resorts’ coattails in time to file the necessary partnership details for consideration to go live when online gaming in the state does, its next step is to file, jointly with Resorts, its full application for a permit by the deadline of July 29, 2013.

Carbon Poker’s next Turbo Online Poker Series (Turbo OPS) is coming up this July 25 to 28, 2013, awarding a guaranteed prize pool of $15,000. And you can win seats in these Turbo OPS events through online satellites happening at Carbon Poker right now.

Pokerstars Re-Entering US via New Jersey

pokerstars to re-enter new jersey marketResorts Casino Hotel and The Rational Group, operator of PokerStars, the world’s largest online poker site, have come to an agreement to provide online poker to the residents of New Jersey, the companies announced today. The agreement links the first casino to open in Atlantic City with the biggest online poker company in the world. “This is another blue chip partner for Resorts to complete a wonderful series of brands – Mohegan Sun, Margaritaville and now PokerStars,” said Morris Bailey, Resorts’ Company Chairman.

“Resorts is a fantastic partner for us and we are looking forward to launch PokerStars in the U.S. in association with the other quality brands Resorts has brought to Atlantic City,” said Mark Scheinberg, CEO of The Rational Group. “We are very happy to invest in New Jersey and we are excited about building a successful relationship with Resorts.” The agreement is pending approval by the New Jersey regulatory authorities.

Many online poker players have been hitting the poker forums and expressing their desire to now move to New Jersey. No word yet on whether Full Tilt Poker which is also owned and operated by The Rational Group will also be opening up to NJ poker players.

Poker 770 Adds BackBet Feature to Games

Poker770 has introduced a new feature for adding new betting value to each game, allowing players to make side bets on the cards while they’re in the midst of their regular online poker game.

Players can made BackBet side bets on the next card’s color, number, or if it will be a face card. Poker770 claims to be not only one of the select few online poker rooms that lets players make real money side bets on the cards, but the first one to do it as well.

Poker 770 provides a full Flash-based video introduction to the BackBet tool, including a step-by-step tutorial on how to use it.

Players can find BackBet under its own tab in their Poker770 lobby menu, listed as New BackBet! You can also activate the BackBet tool from a convenient icon at the top of your online poker table screen.

Once activated, the BackBet window will open up as a sidebar on your screen. Then the next possible bets you can place appear between each deal of the cards. You can Bet the next pocket card; Bet the board cards; or place a folded card bet. For each bet you see the odds and have a field to enter your bet. Then the total possible win (based on your bet times the odds) appears. To confirm, you click Bet and then watch the action continue.

If you win the bet, the amount you win is shown in green and added t your chip stack. And at the very bottom of the Poker770 BackBet window is listed, for your convenience, your entire side bet Betting History.

The Americas Cardroom LSOP Chile Seat-Only Tourney takes place every Thursday evening at 6:30 pm ET for a direct buy-in of $60 + $6. At each of these events, one seat in the LSOP Chile main event worth $1,000 + $100 will be awarded, along with $400 in cash to use for travel expenses.

Players can win seats in these satellites through $16 + $1 LSOP Chile Satellites taking place at 6:00 pm ET every night and awarded at each running 1 seat in the LSOP Chile Seat-Only Tourney.
