This November, Carbon Poker is holding a series of freeroll tournaments called Chip King Freerolls with a guaranteed prize pool of $10,000.

The Carbon Poker Chip King promotion starts November 1, 2011 with the first weekly freeroll taking place on Saturday, November 6. From there, every Saturday another freeroll will be held with the only entry requirements being that the interested players opt-in to the $10K Chip King Freeroll promotion at the Carbon Poker Player Admin control panel using the Activate Promo button. To qualify you also have to earn at least 50 VIP points during the month, but that gains you entry into all 4 of the month’s freerolls.

The Chip King Freeroll prize pool increases as the month progresses. For the November 6th freeroll, the prize pool was $1,000. For the second week’s freeroll, held on November 13, the prize pool is $1,500. The qualification period for this event is November 1 – 11. Week three has a qualification period of November 1 – 18 and the freeroll on November 20 has a $2,500 prize pool. The last freeroll of this month’s Chip King promotion takes place on November 27 featuring a $5,000 prize pool. With a qualification period from November 1 – 25, this event is only for the fifty top VIP points earners. Carbon Poker will keep a leaderboard throughout the month tracking players’ progress in earning VIP points to see who will make it to the $5,000 Top 50 Chip King Final.

Each freeroll starts at 16:00 and players’ starting stacks are customized in accordance with their VIP points earned by that time. For example, if you earn 50 – 99.9 VIP points, you start out with 250 chips, while if you earn over 500 – 999.9 VIP points, you start out with 1,000 chips.

Carbon Poker Launches 2X October Promotion

Last Updated on

This month of October, 2011, Carbon Poker is offering three different ways to rake in the VIP points faster than ever. Double the amount of points you earn at Carbon Poker in October by playing any multi-table tournaments (MTTs), Sit and Go tournaments (SNGs) or cash ring games during 2x Tuesday and 2x Thursday between 00:00 and 23:59 server time.

You can also double your VIP points earnings by participating in 2x Omaha, going on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the month of October 2011 at Carbon Poker. That’s double the VIP points at any Omaha game of any variety, all month long.

To have your play tracked to count toward double points earnings through the 2x October promotion, players must first click the button reading “Activate Promo” under their Player Admin area.

All points are credited to player accounts the day after they’re earned, before 2:00 am server time.

Bonus points players earn through the 2X October promo can be used for VIP-Points-for-Cash redemption, online poker tournament entries and purchases from the CarbonPoker VIP store, but they will not be counted toward a player’s placement into a VIP tier in November.

This offer cannot be combined with any other offer to increase points earned beyond twice the ordinary earning rate. As always, all Carbon Poker terms and conditions, including disqualifications for collusion, team play and fraudulent activity, apply.

Carbon Poker is part of the Merge Gaming Network and offers a broad variety of poker variations, as well as other casino games online like roulette and blackjack.

Carbon Poker Holds Ongoing SnG Leaderboard

Last Updated on

The SnG Leaderboard is a staple of the promotional offerings at Carbon Poker, with at least $12,000 in cash prizes going out to the top performers each and every month. The CarbonPoker SnG Leaderboard, or Sit and Go Leaderboard, is a contest in which players in all sit and go tournaments at Carbon Poker are ranked on a monthly leaderboard based on two primary criteria: the stakes at which they’re playing (as reflected by the buy-in) and how well each player does in each event.

The top 25 names on the leaderboard at the end of each month share a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool, while another $2,000 prize pool goes to the top 5 players with the longest winning streaks in sit and go tournament poker. So valuable does Carbon Poker consider winning multiple sit and gos in a row that it even factors in a winning streak multiplier into players’ regular leaderboard points calculations.

Carbon Poker makes it easy to see how many points you can earn in different scenarios with the points formulas, examples, and even a points calculator on the site to explore.

The payout structure for SnG Leaderboard Prizes is $2,000 for first, $1,250 for second and $1,000 for third all the way down to $100 for 25th place. The payout structure SnG Streaker Bonus Prizes is $750 for first, $500 for second, $350 for third, $250 for fourth and $150 for fifth.

And SnG Leaderboard prizes are on top of whatever cash prizes players earn based on their performance in each individual sit and go.

Who Will Be This Month’s Carbon Poker Tourney King

Last Updated on

Every month Carbon Poker holds its Tourney King promotion, and with June of 2011 just getting underway, it’s anybody’s game once again. Throughout the entire month, Carbon Poker keeps track of the performance of all of its tournament players, in both low and high limit games. Carbon Poker tracks this progress on two different leaderboards – a low-limit and a high-limit leader board – each with its own set of prizes with a combined total value between the two leader boards of more than $20,000.

If you play in a tournament with a buy-in under $20, then that performance is tracked on the low-limit leader board. If you play a tournament with a buy-in $20 or higher, you get on the high-limit leader board. At the end of the month, each leader board features a Grand Final tournament for its top 250 players. Each player will get a starting chipstack reflecting their position on the monthly leader board. Players can even play in enough low and high limit tournaments throughout the month to land them in both Grand Final Tournaments.

First place in the high limit leader board grand final gets $3,000 cash; second place gets $1,800; third gets $1,200; fourth gets $600 and fifth gets $450. Sixth through 15th get $100 cash plus an entry into a special $50K freeroll. Sixteenth through fiftieth get either a $50K entry ticket, a $60 satellite ticket into the $50K freeroll or both.

The low limit leader board grand final gives $1,500 to first, $900 to second, $600 to third, $300 to fourth and $225 to fifth, with a similar arrangment of prizes for sixth through 50th, except with the addition of an $11 satellite ticket into the $60 satellite.

Merge Poker Network to Halt New US Player Signups

Last Updated on

The Merge Poker Network will temporarily stop accepting NEW US players in a day or 2 in order to catch up on a backlog of customer service requests but more importantly on poker transactions. As it stands now customer service has a 2 week backlog and cashouts are much worse. They simply were not prepared for the influx of players they’ve received since Black Friday and are feeling growing pains. If they don’t catch up soon they will end up angering all their players. This is for NEW Players Only, for all existing players it will be business as usual.

The only part of this story that we have not yet been able to confirm is if this is for all Merge Skins or just those that use the Merge cashier and customer support. We’ll update this post as soon as we get confirmation.

We’ve been told that the temporary ban on new US players will last about a month but from past experience in dealing with the Merge Network we’re guessing it will last through the end of the summer. What they will be trying to do is add more processing options as well as hire more customer support personnel to handle the extra traffic.

This move was brought on by internal rumblings among Merge Poker skin operators regarding the current processing problems. With the loss of QuickTender / UseMyWallet the main option became credit cards. the success rate for successful credit card transactions is roughly 20% which is just unacceptable. It is rumored that for Carbon Poker the success rate is closer to 70% which leads us to believe that the Merge Network was putting their site Carbon Poker ahead of all others. This lack of transparency will only lead to more problems and is most likely the main reason this is happening.

UPDATE: This is now in affect. We’ll let you know when they reopen to new US poker players.

Go All-In Or Fold At Carbon Poker For $2,250

Last Updated on

Carbon Poker has an ongoing promotion called All-in or Fold in which a player can shoot for a top prize of $2,250. The promotion is comprised of 10 levels the player must climb through of All-in or Fold Heads-Up tournaments, starting with the first level, costing just $1.10 to buy-in.

You don’t have to buy-in at level 1 if you don’t want to. You could skip to level 2 for a $5.50 buy, level 3 for $10.50, level 4 for $20, level 5 for $39, level 6 for $77, level 7 for $152, level 8 for $300, level 9 for $594 or level 10 for $1,180.

Level 1 is the only level with more than 2 players, with 9 players competing for 1 ticket to step 2 or 3 tickets back into step 1. From then on in, through level 10, players vie for a single seat in the next level and if they don’t make it, can start back at the beginning again, or at whatever level for which they wish to pay the direct buy-in. The winner of step 10 wins $2,250 cash. The runner-up wins a free ticket into step 6.

The rules for an All-in or Fold (AIOF) tournament are simple. You play just like you would any other online poker tournament except you are only given two different betting options each betting round: go all-in or fold and try again (assuming you have enough chips left to do so.)

AIOF tournaments are happening at Carbon Poker all the time.

Carbon Poker Gives New Depositors Cash Chase

Last Updated on

In addition to its standard first depositors bonus, Carbon Poker is offering new players another incentive to join the site. It’s a personalized 30-Day Cash Chase, during which it’s you against a leaderboard against the time. For 30 days you play as much and as well as you can and as you do you’ll advance up a leaderboard and earn increasingly rewarding prizes.

How it works is you earn VIP points by playing at Carbon Poker’s real money cash ring games, multi-table tournaments and sit and go tournaments. As you accumulate these points, you climb the leaderboard. As you climb the leaderboard you earn more and more cash prizes, starting with $5 (at 500 VIP points) and working your way up to the $500 mark (for 25,000 VIP points).

The time clock starts the instant you place your first deposit into a real money Carbon Poker account.

You don’t need to opt-in to this promotion to qualify for prizes. Every first-time depositing member is automatically opted in to the promotion. Players can track their progress and view their current VIP points standings through their Player Admin page. Prizes are automatically deposited into player accounts within 24 hours of the close of their 30-day Cash Chase promotional period.

These prizes are cumulative, so as you advance up the leaderboard and qualify to earn new prizes, you still get to keep the prizes you’ve previously earned. You also get to keep your VIP points after your prizes are awarded, getting you started for a lucrative time as a new Carbon Poker member.

Carbon Poker Seeks Tourney King of the Month

Last Updated on

Each month Carbon Poker seeks a new Tourney King (and the reigning one seeks to retain his or her seat.) They do this by running a multi-table tournament leaderboard all month that tracks how well the top tournament players that month perform. Carbon Poker keeps two of these leaderboards, one for high-limit tournaments and one for low-limit tournaments. Between the two leaderboards, there’s over $20,000 in cash and other prizes to be won each month.

At the end of the month, the top 250 finishers on each leaderboard will compete in a respective Grand Final tourney from each of which a Tourney King will be selected. In addition to the prize money ($3,000 cash for first place in the high-limit final; $1,500 for first in the low-limit final). Low-limit tournaments include all with buy-ins below $20; high-limit tournaments include all with buy-ins above $20. You can qualify, enter and win both high-limit and low-limit Tourney King contests in any given month. The top 5 finishers in each Grand Final will win a cash award; the 6th through 15th place finishers will win cash plus a satellite entry coupon; the 16th through 50th place finishers will win a satellite entry coupon.

MTT leaderboard points are based on a formula that considers the buy-in you paid for the tournament (with an adjustment for rebuy/addon tournaments), the number of entrants competing and your final position, with a bonus multiplier applied for those making it to a tournament’s final table.

Each month the Carbon Poker Tourney King leaderboard gets wiped fresh and the search begins anew for that month’s kings. In addition to winning cash, the Tourney Kings also win an accolade that appears alongside their avatar everytime they sit in at a Carbon Poker game or tournament thereafter.

Climb Carbon Poker’s Super Money Tree

Last Updated on

All this May, Carbon Poker players will have a special opportunity to pick up money like picking fruit off a tree. It’s called the Super Money Tree promotion and it gives each Carbon Poker player the chance to build their bankroll, one hand at a time.

In the Super Money Tree promotion, players earn VIP points everytime they play a hand of online poker at one of Carbon Poker’s cash game tables or tournaments. Both Sit and Go tournaments and Multi-Table Tournaments qualify. The more points you earn, the bigger your rewards.

The Super Money Tree is an improvement over Carbon Poker’s previous Money Tree promotions based on player feedback. Now you can win bonus cash for your best 10 days of VIP points earnings, not just your best single day. Also, you need only earn 100 VIP points within a single 24-hour period during the month to qualify for your first cash reward.

For up to five days in which you earned at least 100 VIP points per day, Carbon Poker will give you $1 for every 75 points. If you earn at least 175 VIP points per day for at least 10 days then you get $1 for every 55 points earned on your best 10 qualifiying days. If you earn 250 points or more per day for at least 20 days of the month then you get $1 for every 25 points earned on the best 10 of those qualifying days.

In order to have your VIP points count towards bonus cash in the Super Money Tree promotion you first need to opt-in by going to your Player Admin screen, browsing to the Money Tree page and clicking the “Activate” button.
