Genting PokerGenting Poker has been on the poker circuit for a while now, but hasn’t really been huge on the poker scene as of late.  But, a few weeks back they went into an exclusive agreement with the group who originally had an agreement with Full Tilt Poker, the Hendon Mob.  They also purchased the Fox Poker Club a few days back, and it seems that Genting Poker could potentially be on the rise in the United Kingdom’s poker market.  To top it off, they also added a big name to their professional poker pro roster in James Akenhead, who should definitely boost the interest in Genting Poker.

Yesterday though, Genting Poker released a brand new tournament series that will be played all across the United Kingdom, and it will be called the Genting Poker Series.  The first season of it will have seven different stops, with the final event taking place in London, which will be the Main Event in December of next year.  Each event with be a £400 buy-in, up until the Main Event which will be a £1,500 buy-in.  What’s very interesting about this tournament series is that one of the tournaments will actually take place online, and will be the first tournament series that mixes up live and online tournament play.  All in all, the poker series will give away at least £800k in prize money among the seven different stops on the tour.

The action will kick off in February in Star City, Birmingham, and will run from the 1st to the 5th of the month.  After that, the next event will be from March 28th to April 1st in Southend, and will be followed up by event #3 in Edinburgh from May 30th to Jun 3rd.  Events four and five will be in Stoke (from August 1st to the 5th), and then in Sheffield from September 26th to the 30th.  Event number six is the online tournament which will be played over a three day span from November 10th to the 13th, and should draw in a very good amount of players.  After that will be the Main Event, which will be at the Palm Beach Casino in London, as previously mentioned above.  It will run from December 7th to the 11th, and should draw the largest prize pool of them all.
