Party Poker World Poker Tour Denmark Satellites Start

Last Updated on

The Party Poker satellite tournament series for the upcoming World Poker Tour stop in Denmark has begun. Running from January 9 to February 19, 2012, the Party Poker WPT Denmark satellite tournament series awards at least one prize package to the event per week.

Each prize package into the WPT National Series Denmark is valued at $3,500 and includes the $2.2k main event buy-in, $550 cash for expenses, and accommodations for four nights. The WPT National Series Denmark takes place from February 28 to March 3, 2012.

The WPT National Series Denmark Party Poker satellite where one prize package is guaranteed to be given out takes place on Sundays at 15:10 ET for a $190 direct buy-in. One prize package will be given out for every $3.5k collected in the prize pool. Players are allowed to win as many WPT National Series Denmark prize packages as they are able to. After the first package, which the player must accept according to the terms stated, attending the WPT Denmark as agreed, all subsequent prize packages are deposited into the player’s real money Party Poker account as tournament dollars for the value of the package, in this case $3.5k.

Players can avoid the $190 buy-in for the WPT Denmark satellite by winning their seat in the event through a satellite qualifier. There are sub qualifier speed events with and without rebuys and even freeroll qualifiers that players can enter as well. That means, a player at Party Poker can win a seat in the next World Poker Tour event in Denmark for absolutely nothing.

January is Rake Free Tourmament Month at Party Poker

Last Updated on

For the entire month of January 2012, Party Poker is suspending the tournament rake for all tournaments at the site.

The tournament rake is the fee listed after the buy-in cost, such as in $20 + $2, the $2 is the rake. In most sites, this is called the tournament “fee”. In any case, that amount will be added into the respective tournament prize pools rather than be taken out by the site as a fee or rake. So in the above example, the full buy-in for that tournament in January of 2012 will be $22 still, but 100% of that cost will be in the prize pool, rather than only $20 of it. When you consider how many players enter each tournament, that little bit adds up to a much bigger potential prize pool from the same tournaments.

As part of this promotion, Party Poker is also giving players two extra ways to boost their bankroll for these tournament deals and only one eligibility requirement to earn both. The first is a 100% reload bonus up to $100. Minimum eligible deposit is $50 and you must use the bonus code: RAKEFREE to claim the bonus. Claim this bonus and you’ll also gain free entry into a $50,000 Depositor’s Freeroll. That event takes place at 11:00 ET on February 5, 2012.

Remember, all Rake Free promotions–that’s the Rake Free Tournaments, 100% Reload Bonus and $50K Depositor’s Freeroll–are valid from midnight January 1 to the minute before midnight on January 31.

Party Poker Premier League Underway

Last Updated on

Party PokerPartyPoker.com is one of the largest online poker sites in the game right now, falling just behind the mega site PokerStars.  Their cash games draw an incredible amount of attention from high stakes players, and their tournaments offer excellent guarantees as well.  While they do handle the whole “online poker” deal very well, this time they have taken to some live action with their PartyPoker.com Premier League Poker Mixed Game Championship.  The action runs from November 13th to November 17th, and is played at the Playboy Club London in Mayfair.  What makes this event so exciting is that it is an invitation only event, which also features a $25k buy-in, so it is sure to draw some of the biggest and best names in poker.  It features three of the most popular games out there, starting with No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, and Pot Limit Hold’em.

The rosters kick off with 12 players that are divided into two side teams of six.  They are called “heats” and the two heats will compete in the Premier League against the other players in their heat.  At the end of the action, the top three players from their respective groups will then play at the final table.  To make things even more interesting, any player who makes it to the final table will receive a  minimum of $25k for their efforts in prize money, and will also win an invite to the Premier League next year.

Now for the layout of the two heats:

Heat 1- Matt Giannetti, Tony G, Jennifer Tilly, Luke Schwartz, Max Pescatori, and James Dempsey

Heat 2- Mike Sexton, Sorel Mizzi, Andy Frankenberger, Andrew Feldman, Ben Carpenter, and Yevgeniy Timoshenko

And last but not least, is the prize pools for any of the 12 players who make it to the final table:

1st place: $100k

2nd place- $65k

3rd place- $45k

4th place- $35k

5th place- $30k

6th place- $25k

This is an interesting concept for a poker event, and it should draw quite a bit of interest from the poker world.  It also helps that it has some of the hottest names in poker right now from the likes of Giannetti, Frankenberger, Mizzi, and Tony G.
