Americas Cardroom Holds The Beast $50K GTD

b50k

The next The Beast $50K Guaranteed tournament coming out of Americas Cardroom is coming up this Sunday, February 10, 2013. The buy-in is $50 + $5 and the name of the game, of course, is Texas Hold’em. The action starts at 6:00 pm ET.

Now keep in mind, The Beast $50K Guarantee tournament is not replacing the regular $50K guaranteed event that Americas Cardroom ordinarily has every Sunday at 7:00 pm ET. That means there’s $100K guaranteed on the table that night across just two tournaments at America’s Cardroom.

Players can avoid the $55 buy-in cost to get into The Beast $50K Guarantee through a satellite tournament, being offered daily at 6:35 pm ET. The buy-in for this event is $7 + $0.70 and each event awards the top 2 players seats The Beast $50K Guarantee.

There’s also a The Beast $50K Super Satellite taking place daily, every hour at 5 minutes after the hour. These events cost only $0.25 + $0.02. And each event awards 2 seats to that night’s The Beast $50K Satellite.

The Beast, to the uninitiated, is America’s Cardroom’s progressive rake race, offering a guaranteed jackpot that gets awarded every month. The Beast jackpot rises throughout the month as more players play at jackpot tables at the site. Players earn points for playing at these jackpot tables which are then tracked on leaderboard, with the top finishers at the end of each month winning a share of a 6-figure jackpot. Then it resets for the next month and the fun starts all over again.

The first week of this 2-week series saw lots of excitement at the site, and now we’re in the second week, with the final weekend of big money/low buy-in tournaments rapidly approaching.

Saturday sees 7 different tournaments scheduled with a grand total of $47,000 up for grabs. Events include the $200K GTD satellite with 100 seats guaranteed, costing $63 to buy-in. Other events on Saturday have prize pools ranging from $1.5K to $10K for buy-ins of $8.80 to $27.50.

Sunday sees 7 more tourneys scheduled, including the $200K GTD event for a $215 buy-in and the final event of the OSS II, Event 82 – $3,000 Pot Limit Omaha for $27.50. Other events that day have prize pools of $5K, $7.5K, and $15K with buy-ins between $5.50 and $109.

As for rest of the week leading up to this action packed weekend, this Thursday and Friday each see 5 daily events with buy-ins of $10 to $100 and a daily total of $45K minimum up for grabs.

A leaderboard is being kept by Americas Cardroom to determine the overall OSS II champion, with players earning points based on their finishing positions in each Online Super Series tournament they play. The top finisher on the leaderboard will win a commomorative bracelet like they do at the World Series of Poker.

Across the 82 events making up OSS II, America’s Cardroom will give away $1 million.

America’s Cardroom Hosts $5K Micro Race

Last Updated on

5kAmerica’s Cardroom is holding a $5K Micro Race taking place between January 13 and 27. As suggested by the name, this is a race for players at the Micro stakes tables, those being: $0.01/$0.02. $0.02/$0.05 and $0.05/$0.10.

Players earn points for each raked pot to which they contribute. At the close of the two week race period, America’s Cardroom will divide the $5,000 prize pool up among the top finishing players.

Players can earn points even faster by playing in Americas Cardroom’s online satellite tournaments for the Online Super Series II (OSS II). Earn 25 points for buying in to the OSS II $150K GTD Super Satellite: 1 seat GTD, taking place hourly at 5 minutes past the hour from January 13 to 20, or the OSS II $200K GTD Super Satellite: 1 seat GTD taking place hourly at 5 minutes past the hour from January 20 to 27. In both the cases, the satellite buy-ins are $0.50 + $0.05. Again you’ll get 25 points every time you buy-in to one of these satellites.

Otherwise, points are awarded at a rate of the rake or fee multiplied by 1.25. So for every $1 you pay in rake or fee, you get $1.25 points in the $5k Micro Race. Top prize is $500, the runner-up gets $250, and third place earns $220. The prizes go down from there through 100th to 150th place finishers who win $10 each time.

Winning players will receive their winnings in their America’s Cardroom account within 5 days after the end of the $5K Micro Race.
