Event #55 of the 2010 World Series of Poker is the Pot-Limit Omaha World Championship. World Championship always means a $10,000 buyin event. Naturally the high buyin narrowed the field a bit. A total of 346 players sat down for this prestigious event. The $3,252,400 prize pool will be divided unequally to the top 36 players. The winner's share is a shiny new bracelet and $780,599. The smallest of the cashes will garner $19,839.

After one day of play 171 players remain to compete for the prize. One would expect this big buyin event to draw a crowd of big name players and one would not be disappointed. 2009 November Niner James Akenhead sits third in chips at the break. World Series of Poker Europe 2007 Main Event winner Annette Obrestad is 17th. Nosebleed Full tilt cash game legend Tom Dwan is 21st. A few of the names that I see also, Eli Elezra, Vanessa Selbst, Phil Hellmuth, Chris Ferguson, Vitaly Lunkin, Humberto Brenes, Greg Raymer, Erica Schoenberg. yep should be an interesting tournament.

With only 33 players left after day 2, Tom "durrrr" Dwan has the chip lead with over 900,000 chips. The next closest competitor has 530,000 or so. Phil Hellmuth is 13th.
