Event #53 of the 2010 World Series of Poker is a Limit Holdem Shootout. this is not a heads up shootout. You have to be the last person standing with all the chips at a full table. Despite being a limit event, 548 brave souls took part. Because of the structure everyone who wins their table gets paid at least $4,135. But they are all looking for the $184,950 and bracelet that first place gets.
This event played down to 64 players. Essentially win your table and go home for the day. They have all cashed now and will resume trying to win their table again tomorrow. CardPlayer magazine publisher Barry Shulman is still alive in this event, as is Terrence Chan. Most of the huge names in poker played the $25,000 buyin Event #52 though.
