Event #30 of the 2010 World Series of Poker is underway at the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino. This $1,500 buyin No Limit Holdem event attracted 2,394 players with dreams of a huge payday and poker immortality in the form of a piece of jewelry for their wrist. The $3,231,900 prize pool of this event will be paid out to the top 243 players. The one who realizes the dream will get $581,851 and a story they will tell over and over. Conversely, the 243rd player will pocket $2,908 and some bad beat stories no one wants to hear.
Keeping with the aggressive theme of this year's WSOP, Day 1 saw only 288 players bagging up their chips and leaving the tables anticipating those stellar moves they will make on Day 2. Carlos Mortensen is fourth in chips, but with so many left in, nothing is settled. Still, more chips beats the daylights out of being short stacked headed into Day 2.
