2010 WSOP Event #24 info

The 24th event of the 2010 World Series of Poker is underway. This event is one of the wildly popular $1,000 No Limit Holdem events. These events have two starting days, so no prize pool information or payouts are yet available. We do know that this tournament may have had an outbreak of sanity. Of the 1,931 players that played Day 1A, a whopping 290 players remain to join their Day 1B survivors for Day 2, which is actually still a day away.

No one has a huge stack and one can only conjecture that all the tight players decided to play Day 1A. The other explanation is that maybe the spewtards are running out of cash and have to start grinding out a cash to prolong their stay in Las Vegas. Whatever the answer is, many more players made the second day than the last two of these events.

After Day 1B, we have some numbers to throw out there. A total of 3,289 players payed the $1,000 to be seated in this event. The $2,960,100 prize pool will be distributed to 342 players. I hesitate to quote a number of players remaining since the official WSOP site is saying 222 remaining, which cannot be right. Even if they were mistaken about 290 players makining it through day 1a, the next day would have to have been the most spewy in WSOP history. I think there are probably 422 or something like that and they just fouled that up.

The eventual winner will receive a nice bracelet and $503,389. The 324th player will walk away with $1,864

This event heads into Day 3 with 30 players left. I am sure everyone left is a good player but a quick scan of the names does not show any familiar players left
