2010 WSOP Event #17 info

Event #17 of the 2010 World Series of Poker is a $5,000 buyin No Limit Holdem event. The field of 792 was whittled down to 225 on the first day of play. The prize pool of $3,722,400 will be shared among the top 72 players. Minimum cash is $10,497. The winner gets some jewelry and $818,959.

The WSOP gives players 3 times the buyin amount in chips. So this 15,000 chip event saw a lot fewer bust outs than say the $1,000 events and their 3,000 in chips. Pretty early still to get excited about anyone's chip count but I see UB Poker Pro Phil Hellmuth in the top 20. A lot of day 2 play left to make it to the money, however.

After day 2 of this $5,000 event only 18 players remain. One of Fonzi's favorites, and Full Tilt Poker pro, Perry Friedman is currently 12th with 361,000 chips. Doyles Room Brunson 10 member Amit Makhija sits in 3rd with 1.3mil chips.

Jason DeWitt and Samuel Trickett are now heads up for the bracelet. Right now.
Dewitt has a 2-1 advantage

Winner Winner Duck Dinner! DeWitt held Trickett off, maintaining his chip lead until he had all of them, securing his win and his first WSOP bracelet, as well as that large 6-figure score!
