Free Poker Experience Launches Web-Site

New York, New York (January 22, 2008) – The Free Poker Experience, the Missouri limited liability company that filed an action in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, to force the legalization of free bar/tavern poker today announced the launch of their new website http://www.thefreepokerexperience.com. “The site will chronicle the events of the law suit filed in August, 2008 to prove that the New York Penal Law is unconstitutional under both the state and federal constitutions when applied to free poker” said Benjamin Scheck, managing member of The Free Poker Experience.

The Free Poker Experience represents The Free Poker Network a nationwide poker league where players compete in free-to-play poker tournaments for points in a league format. Tournaments are paid for and hosted by local sponsors (bars, restaurants, taverns, etc.). Mr. Scheck said, “A look at the past practices and abuses of the New York State Liquor Authority (the state agency that courts have chastised for their “unjustified tenacity” in going after liquor licensees) demonstrates that any “sponsor” would be charged with promoting gambling and subject to having its beer, wine or liquor license suspended or revoked. “

“Bars and taverns that sponsor our free tournaments could lose their liquor licenses for promoting these free games, which is something we're not willing to risk." according to Mr. Scheck. He continued, “That is exactly why it is so important for our new sponsors that we sued New York State first to declare its law unconstitutional.”
