I'm not really sure if it was really such a spectacular call. Look at everything that was involved

- It was a final table, so knocking out a guy is more worthwhile
- Daniel knew he wasn't up against a flush, because it's unlikely his opponent would go all-in with one
- He put him on queens, which meant he had a good number of outs to make a flush or that J for a straight
- If his opponent had just a pair he could beat it if an Ace or King came on the river
- He would still have a decent stack if he lost

So while he wasn't getting the right textbook odds to call, it wasn't some sort of crazy bet.

And MAXPWR, I don't think his play has anything to do with how much money he has. In that position you have to not only factor in the chances of you winning a hand, but also the effect a win will have on the rest of the game. Sure a loss here would hurt Daniel, but a win would give him a much better chance at winning the whole thing. Tournament payouts are top heavy, so it's almost always a good move to risk a safe spot to go for the win.
