| Need some good advice Hey guys, my game is looser then Brittney Spears and no matter what I do I can't seem to get it together. My confidence is shot. I keep getting in with the best hand and losing, I try to get in with the worst hand every now and then and I lose. HELP. No joke, I'm getting my ass kicked.

| It's been going on for 2 weeks now, the stakes don't seem to matter. I've checked my stats and flop % is always between 30 and 35% which is what I'm usually at.I have noticed that I've played some questionable hands out of position, usually out of desperation. Getting sick of being in this funk.

| remember the basics of poker... sometimes we forgot the first things we learn cause we have been playing for a long period of time and we think that the strategy we have follow on the past its going to work forever.. maybe today, that strategy, its not as good as it used to be.. The majority of players will adjust their game to align with that of the top winners. As more and more players change their style of play to ape the elite, the winners will move on to a new strategy - or a new game altogether - to stay one step ahead. i think its time for you to try a new strategy.. maybe its going to take a while to improve or to create a new one, but i think.. that in a long term you are going to recover those days of glory..

| another think I try, if playing a tournament. I ask myself do i "have to" play those cards. If its no, I fold. I have had success with this method, though it is not my current strategy. I really don't have a strategy. I am at the final table of a 448 person tourney now, chip leader, yet rather than bully, I am playing tight and folding just about everything. Now, many final tables I will play very loose, but today I am playing tight, with no clear strategy beforehand, I am just doing it because it "feels" right

| Also, I discovered something lately that improved my game bigtime. Strategy video's. I downloaded a bunch of them (they are dutch so I am afraid they are of no use to you ) and it was very educating to watch them. Some guy was fourtabling on Stars and made remarks about every move he made. Why he raised, why he folded, why he reraised and why he played that hand in that position. It was very interesting because now every time I raise or call a raise I think the hand through in my head. What is the play I am going to make on the flop. What hands can my opponent call with. When do I let go of my hand? All that kind of stuff. I now run at 9 BB/100 hands ![]() |

| I agree with Dunbar, your flop percentage is too high. I see about 20% (i only play tournies), and this is similar to what some semi-pros i know report. If you are playing marginal hands in the hope of getting lucky, that is an indicator that you are on-tilt. Time to take a break and clear your thinking. Stick to what you KNOW is good, solid poker....play tight and aggressive. Unfortunately down streaks are a bummer, and can last weeks/months/years (e.g., Daniel Negreanu), but losing because you are playing marginal hands will eat away at your self-confidence far worse than losing AA to 7-2 os. Good luck. ![]() |

I realize that my game is in a transition stage, but right now, it's not going as planned at all.
