This record was set by Pokerstars on December 28, 2008 and is 35,000 players.
The tournament that Full Tilt has set up for July 19, 2009 at 15:05 ET has a max field of 50,000 players.

"The Record Breaker" T# 99219444 is rumored to have almost all of the Full Tilt pros in attendance.

This sets up an interesting dynamic between Pokerstars and Full Tilt. It will be interesting to see how the world's largest poker site responds if #2 breaks their record. And how failure to get over 35,000 players might play out on the forums if they fail.

They do not show freerolls on the page of satellites. I think they just spring them unannounced.

I'm in too!!!! Qualified Wednesday night in the $20K freeroll. Surprised at how easy it was to get down to 4000 qualifiers. Almost too easy, as guys seemed to be in a hurry to do something else. Good luck to all those playing the big one on Sunday.
