Its that time of year again, when its time to pack away the winter clothes and warm up with CarbonPoker's inaugural Summer Championships.

As with previous years, the Summer Champs will be a series of events run throughout the month and encompass 33 separate events, followed by the Tournament of Champions $15,000 Jackpot finale.

Certain events will award leaderboard points with the players who finish at the top of the leaderboard winning their entry in the Grand Final. However, this year its not all about the leaderboard and the overall winner, but about securing your own UNIQUE starting stack in the "Tournament of Champions."

That's right, at the completion of the 33 Championship events the top 250 players on the leaderboard will win entry to the "Tournament of Champions" and battle it out for their slice of the Summer Champs Jackpot! The best part is that the "Tournament of Champions" will feature an all NEW format and based on each players leaderboard result, they will be awarded unique starting stacks. So the better you play, the better your chance of a Jackpot payday!

The 30 day schedule has been designed to closely mimic the World Series Of Poker schedule and will feature several championship events, with glory to be had in special tournaments like the Ladies Only, and the Intercontinental and American Championship.

All Championship event winners will receive a commemorative chipset and accolade to celebrate the victory.

To reserve your seat in the "Tournament of Champions" and your shot at the Summer Champs Jackpot of at least $15,000, simply place in the top 250 of the Summer Champs Leaderboard and win free entry!

This finale event will showcase some of our best players and have them pitted in an all out battle for the $15,000 minimum Jackpot.

Leader board points are awarded as the reverse of the field, so if 100 players enter a tournament, the first player out will be awarded 1 point, and the winner will be awarded 100 points. Those points are then mulitplied by the rating assigned for each specific even. So, an event with a value rating of 2 and a field of 100 players would award 200 points to first place and 2 points to last place.

As a bonus the players that make the final table for each Championship event will have their leaderboard points multiplied for that event.

* 1st - 250%
* 2nd - 225%
* 3rd - 200%
* 4th - 180%
* 5th - 160%
* 6th - 150%
* 7th - 140%
* 8th - 130%
* 9th - 125%
* 10th - 125%

So, if the player that finishes first in a field of 100 in an event with a tournament rating of 2 will end up with 500 Summer Champs Leader board points.

* Example: (reverse field order = 100) x rating (2) x Final Table Bonus (2.5) = 500 Championship Points

Summer Champs Schedule:

* Starts: Sunday 1 June
* Concludes: Sunday 30 June
* Tournament of Champions: Saturday 5 July @ 13:00

It's the only event I was fond of. I remember one day I took an early chip leads in a $5 buy in event and the game was 2-7 lowball wow unfortunately I lost everything when I had the 5th nuts against the nuts.

Is it true that this year's Summer Champs ... do not reward the winner of each event the accolade ..., if so that really sucks. It was a friend who told me that.
