Bodog Poker to run a Mini SOP

Bodog Poker will run a series appropriately named the Bodog Poker Mini-SOP from May 30-July 3 that features the same 25 holdem tournaments that run at the 2008 World Series of Poker at one percent of the buy-in. Holdem Poker Chat was going to run a very similar event, but we found it would be very difficult to pull off at this time. Maybe next year.

On May 30th, the same day as the WSOP $10,000 buy-in pot-limit holdem championship, the Bodog Poker Mini-SOP will run a $109 pot-limit holdem event. Adding extra value for online tournaments players is the Tournament Leader Board (TLB) that will run throughout the series and determine who will get to compete in a 27-player tournament on July 10. That 27-player freeroll will award the top three finishers a $12,000 prize package to the 2009 WSOP main event, and the fourth- through ninth-place finishers will get $109 tournament dollars.

The top four players on the TLB will get an automatic entry into the final, while fifth through 100th place will compete for one of the 18 seats to be awarded in the semifinal qualifier. The last five seats into the final will be picked from a random “Wild Card” drawing among players who have participated in at least three Mini-SOP events.

Download Bodog Poker and receive a 110% Bonus up to $500.

"Americans have played poker throughout history. Playing poker on the internet is simply an example of an American tradition evolving into the 21st century. It is unfathomable that poker, an American pastime and game of skill, should be banned for the millions who enjoy playing responsibly."
