I honestly think that even if you can afford it, and also run this forum we'll all here be the most luckiest members Having an admin which regularly plays big events is an advantage for us which are still learning.

That same buddy talks about winning $10k some day and buying into the WSOP. Totally different philosophies, I told him, the only way I ever buy into such a huge donkfest is if the $10k didnt mean anything to me, money-wise.
Winning into it is another thing, of course.

He thinks I would do well because I play a lot of open freerolls with thousands of players. that may be true, and I do money in some of them, but many of them I get donked out early in. Not risking $10k on a donkfest.
Understandable, but you would probably do well.

I can't afford large buyins. I satellite in.

As for learning, I think we're all learning, Poker takes a lifetime to master. By playing online, you can try different styles until you develope your own. I know my game can change from tight to loose and back to tight within a couple of hours online. But playing live, I play TAG. Tight aggressive and only loosen up when I feel that I can get away with it.

"Americans have played poker throughout history. Playing poker on the internet is simply an example of an American tradition evolving into the 21st century. It is unfathomable that poker, an American pastime and game of skill, should be banned for the millions who enjoy playing responsibly."
