Pokerstars World Record Attempt!

For just $11, you can possibly become part of a World Record, to be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records 2009!

PokerStars is hosting a tournament in which they are shooting to break their own world record of the World's Largest Poker Tournament! This tournament, to occur on Sunday, December 28th at 3:30 pm ET, is an $11 buyin with a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. The kicker: the maximum number of entrants is 35,000. This means that this tournament will have a $150,000 overlay! For a tournament that generally has a $200,000 guaranteed pool, they are giving away nearly that same amount!

With over two weeks open for registration, there are already almost 1,000 players registered. To guarantee your seat in this tournament and chance of a lifetime, make sure to get registered as soon as possible. You can find the tournament as Tournament ID: 126551369. I am already registered!

So, if you have plans on the 28th, reschedule them now! This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be a part of a World Record, not to mention your chance at hundreds of thousands of dollars!

As Dunbar and I discussed earlier, the sickest part of this is the fact that someone will win. Who wouldn't want to say that they won the world's biggest poker game ever. This event deserves a bracelet.

$150,000 overlay sounds pretty sweet for a $11 buyin

just noticed it has a min of 8750 players
and is paying the top 8750 players....

easiest way to find this tournament is click the Special Tab
and sort by players registered ( should be near top, hopefully will be )
then look to the left and see date Dec 28th...

LOL! Am I spoiling it to say that "pays 8,750" is based on the prize pool, not the entry number, and will stay the same until the prize pool exceeds the book ratio money/players? I know, confusing, but it's just like all guaranteed events that list a "players paid" number and then that number finally grows when the pool exceeds the guarantee (see Stars, Tilt, Cake...). Sweet thing here at Stars is that 8,750th will at least get their $11 back plus some small change (probably).

Sound like a great event. Tilt's Extra Holiday $100K is at the same time. Maybe it's time I tried to learn to do two things well at once...

G'luck all!

I'm deffinetly going to play this one. The levels are a bit too short (10 min), but then again it would last a bit too long if the levels were longer.
