SportsBook and Players Only to Merge Network

Sportsbook Poker and Players Only Poker are moving to the Merge Gaming Network as previously reported here. Holdem Poker Chat now has some of the information about that move and we want to share it with our members. The new poker room for both of them will be called PlayAces

The change over will occur on April 15, 2010.
On April 15th, what do I have to do?
Simply click on the poker icon on your desktop and the old software will be uninstalled and the new software will be automatically downloaded. Once the download has been completed you will be asked to login using your regular poker login information. You will then be asked to confirm your poker screen name. Once done you’ll be taken to the new Play Aces lobby where you’ll be able to play. All account information, balances, and bonus points will be maintained in the new poker environment.

Gold Cards, Gold chips and Tournament tickets will be converted as follows
1 Gold Chips = 20 VIP points
1 Gold Card = 1 VIP point
$0.10 in tourney ticket from Cake = 1 VIP point

I asked them about having both Sportsbook and Players Only accounts. Both accounts will be transferred, so you will wind up having 2 accounts on the same site. They did not seem too concerned about the ethics of that.

"In regards to your two accounts you won’t have to worry about it because once we move to the new network the accounts will remain the same, if you would like to we can cancel one account and try to transfer the gold card or gold chips to the active account but we can’t guaranteed you."

It sounds like your login name will be your new screen name. I am not sure what they will do if it is duplicated on the network. Nor do I know if there will be any means of redress if you do not care for your login name and wish to change it. They do say that they will e-mail all players with more details as the time gets closer.

If you try the new software and do not wish to play on the Merge Gaming Network, Holdem Poker Chat highly recommends Doyles Room which is on the former network of Sportsbook and Players Only

i still think the gold card transfer is a rip off


i dont see how the can give all cards the same vaule when some are rare to get. lee jones said that if u contact Cake that they would transfer any gold cards and chips over to ur Cake account if u would like.

Power Poker seems to be saying something similar now also

i am sure most Cake skins will be willing to do this. i can only confirm Cake poker doing this at the moment. make since if u ask me trying to get them players to move to their skin which other leave to merge.

Let me see if Doyles Room will be doing it as well. In my opinion Doyles is the best Cake Skin.

I just asked Cake what the steps players need to take are. Will let you know when they answer. They may be a bit busy right now

"Thank you for your email. All you have to do is email us your PlayersOnly nickname that you'd like the Gold Cards and Chips transferred over from along with your Cake Poker nickname. We'll then have it done for you within the next couple of days."
