Poker Rooms get CEREUS

Bigger and better has arrived.

UltimateBet and Absolute Poker are now part of a new, feature-rich, rock-solid poker network. It's called CEREUS and it allows us to offer our players more of what they want. Here’s what you can expect the next time you hit the tables:

MORE PLAYERS – Our poker network of more than 2 million players has more than doubled thanks to CEREUS.

BIGGER GUARANTEES & MORE ACTION– More players means more action at the tables. And that means more tournaments with much bigger guarantees for you to conquer.

LARGER BAD BEAT JACKPOTS – With more players online, we expect to see more players at our Bad Beat Jackpot tables. Get ready for much higher payouts.

NEW FEATURES – We’re thrilled to add several new features to our online poker software. To discover exactly what they are, visit our New Features page.

STABILITY - CEREUS allows us to deliver all of these new features without compromising the stability of the poker environment. In the future, this new platform will also allow us even more new features that online poker players have been dreaming about.

SECURITY AT ITS CORE - The combination of a new technology platform and 24/7 Security Center brings players a watertight gaming experience. Learn more about our new Security Center.

To discover exactly how CEREUS delivers the ultimate poker experience, visit our Absolute Poker or UltimateBet.

This is pretty cool. I had been looking forward to this update for quite sometime, however im not as enthusiastic as i expected to be. The merge now has many more players on one server, which i think is amazing. However, there are some down sides. The small stakes sit n gos ($1 and $2) now have DOUBLE the entry fee. Instead of the buy ins being $1.10 and $2.20, they are $1.20 and $2.40. Personally, i think this is an absurd joke. The only people playing those tables are people trying to build a bankroll from a small amount of money....how the hell are they supposed to do that with the added cost.

For now, these are some of the things i noticed. I have only spent a couple of minutes looking around the newly added features, so ill post again later if i see anything else that catches my eye.

Good Luck

The graphics are really bad, not as clean as you would hope. It's difficult to follow the action because everything is just a bit out of place. Of course, that might also have to do with me being stupid...

Btw, is it possible to be logged in from your UB and AP account at the same time?

No, you cant login on UB and AP at the same time. I just checked it, but it seems like the AP software is exactly the same? I dont see any new features, or differences.

I know that earlier today you could log on to both your UB and AP account at the same time, if you use two different computers (same IP). Another possible security breach they need to get fixed asap (not sure if they've fixed it already though).

I don't think that could be changed, but they do need to make sure that it's not the same persons account. They need to somehow tag account on both sites. Just think about how many players log in from hotel rooms during large tournaments. You can't block them all.

It just amazes me how they didn't come up with a system that checks this, before they went public and were still were testing.
