My wife and I arrived home from Vegas this morning. I'm working on a trip report, should have it finished soon. In the meantime here's a pic....

Rezster and I had a great trip. I want to personally thank sharbear and Fonzi for the greatest week of poker and parties I've ever had in Vegas. I look forward to continuing to get to know all my new friends online.

Great photo! I hope you enjoyed the academy. Sorry to hear the tournament did not go so well.
It was a pleasure meeting both you and Marie! We were glad we got a chance to hang with you guys, even if we did not get to play a tournament.

We look forward to seeing you guys next year and continue to see you at the tables.

Day 1

The trip started off on 6/27 with a two hour delay from CLE to LAS, something that happens frequently, so we were expecting it. We arrived at LAS around 5:45 PM and the luggage was quickly unloaded from the plane, faster than I can ever remember. Unfortunately, my luggage was nowhere to be found. When the next flight's bags began unloading, it wasn't looking good and I filled out a lost luggage report with Southwest. The taxi line was short, in fact, there was no one in line. Cab driver proceeds to long haul us to Bally's, taken south to go north and then west to go east, something I will make sure never happens again.

There was no line at Bally's registration desk, we tipped the clerk $20.00 and she was very appreciative. Reserved a standard South Tower room, she upgraded us to a Junior Executive Suite in the remodeled North Tower. The suite was large and included a bedroom, sitting area, dressing room and bathroom. For less than $70/night, we received a suite in the center of the strip, not a bad deal!

View from our room

Walked up the strip and checked the tournament schedules at some poker rooms, ate at Outback Restaurant in Casino Royale. Ended up at O'Sheas for the midnight tournament, $45 for 2000 in chips, 20 minute levels, no antes, top 10% are paid. My wife had aces cracked early against a set of tens. I made the final table but busted out before the money, my QQ lost to KQ when a King hit the flop. We decided to call it a night and went to bed.

Day 2

We went next door to the Paris Casino for their champagne brunch at Le Village Buffet, got there a little early and they only charged us for the regular breakfast buffet. The food was outstanding, we could have gone back two or three times and still not have tried everything they had to offer.

The afternoon was spent shopping for clothes and other items that were lost in my luggage. Later in the afternoon, we met up with Fonzi and his wife, lkport, AlabamaXslim, Mainstick, Sharbear and Hooch at the I-bar in the Rio and proceed to the Sky Villas at The Palms for the Cake Party.

The Cake Party was a lot of fun and the Cake Girls were the main attraction. They had some promotional items that were giving away hats, playing cards, and mini chip sets. Each Sky Villa has a pool and some of the guys decided to go swimming with girls.

We stayed for a couple of hours and few of us wanted to play some live poker. We decided to meet at O'sheas for their 9:00 pm tournament. Normally, a drive from the Rio to the strip takes less than 5 minutes, traffic was horrible and took over 20 minutes to get to the O'sheas. We missed the tournament and decided not to sign up as alternatives. Sharbear and Hooch, Owab and I decided to eat at Harrah's buffet and then catch a tournament at Bill's Gambling Hall at 11:00 PM. Arrived at Bill's with plenty of time to register but was informed that the tourney would not go down, it was cash games only. I started feeling jet lagged and knew I wouldn't make it for a midnight tournament, said goodnight to Sharbear and Hooch and called it an evening.
