Event 8 - $2500 Deuce to Seven Draw Lowball (No-Limit)

This event seems to have hidden from us here at HPC, but it has been found! Down to the last 13 from the original 147 entrants, players have already reached the money, each remaining player taking home nearly $5000, double the original buyin.

Yan Chen currently leads this field, holding 180,000 in chips, with John Monette in 2nd with 160,000. These two better not look behind them, for sitting in third chip position is none other than Phil Ivey, holding 145,000 chips, and Layne Flack, in fifth chip position, with 100,000 chips. I am very confident these two players have a lot to say about their finish in this tournament.

Freddy Deeb and Tony G, two players that often have something to say at the closing end of a tournament, find themselves at the bottom of the field, both around 40,000 chips.

All of the remaining players are undoubtedly shooting for the bracelet and nearly $100,000 first place prize that goes along with it.

And now we are Heads-Up! John Monnette is looking to take down his first WSOP bracelet, but, between him and the gold, is none other than Phil Ivey. Monnette has a slight lead over the pro, but Ivey has overcome more than a 25% chip deficit before, I am sure. The loser of this heads-up battle will take home $59,000 (shucks!) and the winner will net that nearly 100k, and that coveted bracelet. Stay tuned for the results!

Phil Ivey Wins No Limit Deuce to Seven Draw

currently I have been watching this with fonzi, chatting back and forth
as much as the chips have been moving back and forth. . .. ..

Ivey has taken over the lead with some punishing blows to Monnette (who has a cashing in this years WSOP*)
with the run Ivey has been on (nearly 12:30am) it looks like it is a run over for him, but with the all-in pressure by his opponent scoring out some blinds then a swift all in by the short stack and a call.... Monnette becomes the chip leader with stacks being John Monnette - 880,000-Phil Ivey - 220,000

Ivey doubles back and then the fight was on, even in stacks
Phill picks up the cheap lead.....
Fonzi: allin
assistanc3: oh no?
assistanc3: here we go
9752 76542, Monnet pairs his seven....

Wining his 6th bracelet and $96,361 .... he's richer with the prop betting going on
rumored that he may win over seven figures..in the prop bet...

wow poker players are sick eh? No pressure eh Phil ?

WTG Phil,

I finally gave up and went to bed, about the time they were even again. I watched and listened to it for hours. The good thing about that.. I finally understand the basic rules of 27 Draw. You dont hear much about the game and that was the 1st time I had seen it played.
