Grand Poker Series - Golden Nugget

There are many players that do not play the WSOP due to the cost of the buy-in just being too rich for their blood. There are many players that face WSOP events that are sold out. Well, here is a series that may be up your alley.

The Golden Nugget is once again hosting their Grand Poker Series this year. They have a wide variety of tournament games from NLH, Omaha, HORSE and 7-Stud to name a few. The buy-ins range from $130 to $225, but they are also running seven daily tournaments and buy-ins starting at $65! That means there’s a game for every player and every bank roll.

You can buy into their Grand Finale for as low as $125 in one of their satellites. The buy-in for the Grand Finale is $1080, which begins on July 3rd.

The tournaments begin June 5th and run through July 4th.

Players who are playing the events (excluding the qualifying tournaments, Grand Finale satellites, and main event) will start with 10K in chips and there will be 40 min blinds. For an addition $10, you can buy an extra 2k in chips.

These tournaments get a great turn out and can run for several hours. Last year we played in the HORSE tournament that started at noon. We were knocked out just before the money and it was 8:00pm! These games can easily run until midnight if you get to the final table, so be prepared to stay and play.

Be sure to take advantage of the breaks. Get something to eat during the dinner break and fuel up your energy. Take the bathroom breaks when needed. Walk around during the break and get the blood flowing. It is a long day and you want to make the most of it.

Notice at the bottom of the tournament schedule that they are running special room rates. Also, be sure to check the forum for special room rates and discounts for our Vegas Invasion event during the weekend of June 28th.

Hope to see you there!

Good luck at the tables

Unfortunately their room specials seem to be identical to what they're offering IV. Ah well.

I intend to use Grand Event 41 as my warmup to pass the time waiting and practicing up for the IV invasion...

I got knocked out like 3 hours in or so,kinda ended up donking away my chips so i could go to the UB party lol.

I blew off the UB party because I was sitting on the strip playing poker at O'Sheas. Heard the UB one was pretty good

Wish I could play 38, but wasn't planning on flying in that early. I was looking at 42 for the Omaha or any one of the NLH.

I agree, they are fun. I sat at a great table. It can be real fun with a great table.

Jay (Hooch) got an awesome picture and plaque from there. There is a guy that goes around taking pictures while they are playing and make these cool plaques. I think they were $40 for the smaller one (but still a decent size).
