| Flush Draw - stay till the river? I've been battling with this hand while loosing some and winning some by holding a flush draw to the river. What's the general strategy out there for this move? Say, I have Kc 8c clubs and the flop comes Ad 5c jc. So i have a 4 card flush - miss it on the turn with say a 6h - there is one chap betting 3x the BB after the flop and after the turn. Do I stay in for the river at this point or fold? I have him pegged as having a high pair, aces is what I suspect. Do I risk another 3x the BB to see the river? thanks in advance ![]() |

| I would fold there. But my first question is why are you in a hand with K8s? Were you the BB? I like playing suited cards in position, but I prefer for them to connect K8 doesn't connect. Also keep in mind that the A he has may be the Ac at which point you can very well be way behind.

| I guess that was a bad example that I pulled out of the air - normally I would throw out a hand as I set up in my example. I run my own result percentages and the success rate of a flush draw is about 1 in every 5 hands - and that's a high flush (above a J) --- a low flush draw is about 10% so I don't touch that one with a 10' pole. So is it partical to say that a 10c Jc under the same circumstances would generally take someone to the river? let's say we show on board - Ah Qc 9h 5c --- so we open up a couple of more outs for a straight as well Oh yes, position wise I was the BB - |

| I'm folding on the turn there is a re raise...so I know I am not going to see a free river with your position, you could have raised onthe flop. you might have got 2 free cards or possibly taken the pot then.

Is the guy who is leading out the SB and are you seeing the flop on an unopened pot IMO you should really be looking at your play on the flop rather than later streets If i'm first to act with these hands in an unopened pot i wanna find out where i am as soon as possible

| The most important thing to remember when drawing to a hand is your pot odds, implied odds and reverse implied odds. These facts decide wether drawing is +EV or -EV. To answer your question, there isn't any general strategy. Every hand is different and brings up a new situation. If you have any questions feel free to ask. |
