Day 6 of the 2009 WSOP Main Event is in the books. The ever-increasing blinds forced players to act and winnowed the field from 185 to 64 players. The field of 64 will begin play at 12 noon pt (3pm et). From a starting field of 6494, the Big Dance has been narrowed to just 1% of the hopefuls remaining.
The developing story of this WSOP Main Event is the slow and steady rise in chips of
Full Tilt poker pro Phil Ivey. Already with two 2009 WSOP bracelets, Mr. Ivey currently sits third in chips (6,345,000). He trails only Darvin Moon (9,745,000) and Billy Kopp (8,245,000). Not far off the pace is Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari (5,610,000) while Joe Sebok (1,000,000) just tries to hold on.
The next player to bust out will get $90,344 for the WSOP Main Event. All others will be guaranteed at least $108,047.
