As day 2B of the 2009 WSOP got underway, a staggering 2924 players saw the cards fly. In a stunning display of live play imitating the internet, less than half of the runners will make it to day 3. At the end of the day, only 1437 rounders moved on and kept their WSOP Main Event dream alive.
Play resumes on Friday with both groups of players combining to seat 2044 hopefuls with WSOP gold still shimmering in their mind's eye.
Some of the big names still in the hunt for the crown include
Full Tilt Poker pro Phil Ivey, Jeffrey Lisandro, Phil Hellmuth, Joe Hachem, Vitaly Lunkin, Greg Raymer, "Action" Dan Harrington, and Chris “Jesus” Ferguson.
