The impact of scheduling The WSOP over the July 4th weekend continues to be felt as only 1,476 players started day 2A. WSOP day 2B will see a whopping 2,922 players competing to move on and closer to the money.
Of the 1,476 WSOP day 2A players to begin the day, only 607 left with the dream of the coveted WSOP Main Event Bracelet still alive. Some big names were pushed to the rail in day 2A. Some of the more prominent players included Gus Hansen, Tony G, Johnny Chan, Todd Brunson, Barry Greenstein, Todd Brunson, Mike Matusow, and Amarillo Slim.
Some notable names that survived to play day 3 include Chris Ferguson, Mike Sexton, Greg Raymer, Sam Farha, Vitaly Lunkin, and Erik Seidel.
