National Poker Week

The Poker Players Alliance has announced National Poker Week July 19-25. During a press conference at the Rio during the WSOP, PPA Executive Director John Pappas and PPA Chairman Alfonse D'Amato announced new initiatives and activities planned for that week in Washington DC.

The new website for the events is National Poker Week. There players can hear Barney Frank discuss the need for them to act. Sign the petition to the President, upload your own video about playing the game we love, and join the PPA all from the new site.

In Washington DC, the PPA will hold a rally in support of poker. Additionally, PPA representatives and professional poker players will be meeting with members of congress to tell their side of the poker story. A charity poker game will be held to benefit the USO and the Malone House at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

PPA Chairman and former U.S. Senator Alfonse D'Amato:
"National Poker Week, with events in Washington, D.C., and across the country, is the PPA's way to make it clear to my former colleagues in the U.S. Congress that poker is important to voters and is here to stay,"

My feel for it is to pressure Congress on a couple of bills. I do not think they have thought that far ahead as to whether they will do it more than once yet

I'm confused. I've gotten emails about a $3500 freeroll, which you get a ticket for if you sign the petition. Apparently there are more than one, and on different sites also. Will I be able to play in one freeroll on each site? I know they will have them on Pokerstars and Full Tilt, and probably more. I'm not sure how this works.

if you use the link they send, and the e-mail you sign up with is the one for that site, you should get a ticket to a freeroll. You can play one, you choose

So, if I play one on Pokerstars, I can't play one on Full Tilt? I used Pokerstars link to sign the petition, and will get a ticket from them. Then I got an email from Tilt saying I have qualified for a $3500 freeroll if I sign the petition.

you may get to play both if it is the same e-mail address. I signed the petition before the freerolls were anounced. I used the e-mail that I used to sign up for Full Tilt. Full Tilt sent me an e-mail message saying I was qualified for their freeroll, and how to sign up

Congratulations on earning your entry to a Full Tilt Poker $3.5K National Poker Week Freeroll.
Register for the National Poker Week Freeroll of your choice by following the steps below:
1. Log in to Full Tilt Poker
2. Go to the Cashier and select My Promotions
3. Click on National Poker Week Freeroll
4. Decide which National Poker Week Freeroll you would like to play
5. Click on the Register button next to that tournament

I use a different e-mail address for Pokerstars.
