President Barack Obama met with WSOP commissioner Jeffrey Pollack and a handfull of poker players including Full Tilt Poker pro Andy Bloch tonight inside Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. The President was given a WSOP jacket with his name stiched on the back and was invited to play in the World Series of Poker.
The President then went on to give a speech to a sold out crowd inside the Caesars Colosseum.
It's well known that President Obama is a very skilled poker player. We doubt the President will find time to play, but it would be great for him to swing by and annouce the start of a tournament.
"Americans have played poker throughout history. Playing poker on the internet is simply an example of an American tradition evolving into the 21st century. It is unfathomable that poker, an American pastime and game of skill, should be banned for the millions who enjoy playing responsibly."
Interesting I did not know he played poker. Maybe that's a good thing for us so he can find a way to tax our winnings and make online poker leagal in all the US.
