The 40th annual WSOP is set to start

The best poker players in the world are converging on Las Vegas for the *World Series of Poker 2009. Last year was the year of the pro with many of the top names in poker winning bracelets. Will this year be the same or will we see the young guns of poker winning the coveted bracelets? It's no secret that the big boys have been complaining about the lack of juicy cash games and the *WSOP generally offers the best cash games of the year, so the big question is will they pass up on some events to to go make the easy money.

Holdem Poker Chat will have daily updates on the winners and losers as well as other stories from the 40th annual *World Series of Poker. We'll also have a big group going to the big dance at the end of June to bring you interviews and video. We will of course bring you news on the big parties that will take place before the Main Event. This year we'll also be using our Twitter account to bring you live updates from the rail on how your fellow members are doing in their events.

We've set up a fantasy poker team on Full Tilt Poker and we're giving the top 3 in the final leaderboard standings cash prizes. Make sure to set up your fantasy poker team before May 28th.

Later this week I'll be writing my *WSOP survival tips and I don't mean at the poker table. Las Vegas is a world of it's own and over the years I've learned what to pack and bring with me to make the trip more comfortable.

We'll also have some tips on the best ways to win yourself a seat in the Main Event, the best clubs, restaurants and the best Las Vegas pools.
