Vanessa Rousso wins EPT High Roller

Vanessa Rousso beat some of the best professional poker players to take down the EPT Monte Carlo €25,000 High Roller. She outlasted 79 of the world's best players to take home the €720,000 ($964,207) first place prize, and a neat crystal spade trophy too.

Some of the big names to play in this tournament include Phil Ivey, Barry Greenstein, Daniel Negreanu, Erik Seidel, Andy Bloch, Gus Hansen, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Peter Eastgate, William Thorson, Alexandre Gomes, Chris Ferguson, Gus Hansen, Devilfish and Tony G.

The winning hand against Randy Dorfman came with a board of 3-9-8-5-K. Dorfman had K-5, but Vanessa was holdong the 6-7. The win almost doubles Vanessa Rousso's tournament winnings after her big second place showing in the National Head's Up tournament. It also gives PokerStars some great publicity return on their huge investment in the EPT, having one of their stable of professional players take down such a prestigious tournament.
