Why Poker Players Should Get to Know Gary Johnson.

Gary Johnson is the former two-term Governor of New Mexico, a Republican candidate for President, and a long-time defender of personal freedom.

And that freedom includes your right to play online poker.

Governor Johnson has strongly condemned the federal crackdown on online poker, arguing that the right to assume risk and to gamble (in the privacy of one's own home, no less) is a basic right that should not involve the government.

Governor Johnson has issued the following statement: “Government has absolutely no business telling Americans what they can do with their own time and their own money on their own computers, and that most certainly should apply to playing poker online. The fact that Americans are now prevented from playing online poker is an outrage. Unfortunately it is but another chilling example of how Congress and the Justice Department continue to trample on our personal liberty.

“As President, I will do everything in my power to restore your right to play online poker, and ensure that such a right can never be taken away again.”

They'll say anything to get elected.

How's that "Hope and Change" working out for you?

We DON'T need a politician for president, we need a business man or women. Someone that cares about our country and not their pockets. We have too many self serving politicians there now.

Yes to all of what Vette said. I don't recall reading about Mr. Johnson getting online poker legalized in New Mexico during his two terms in office.

Gary Johnson started a one man company and turned it into a million dollar business. Is that a good enough businessman for you? He also turned around the deficit in New Mexico, and reduced a bunch of unneeded government jobs w/o firing anybody.
And that Hope & Change bs was a bunch of lies, that more and more people are starting to see. And there wasn't a big need to fight for online poker legalization at the time cuz everybody was doing it w/o problems, and New Mexico has gambling that's ran by Indian tribes. He did work w/ them to get it expanded.

Looking at his background of what he has done for NM, he would make a better president then some of the current candidates.

Looking at his background AND what he's done for NM, he would make a better president than All of the other candidates, especially Obama.

That statement itself is contradictory ...
