Everest Poker becomes main WSOP* Sponsor

Everest Poker has signed a multi-year promotional agreement with the world's largest and most prestigious poker tournament, The World Series of Poker.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP(R)) is the world's premier poker event, with over 50,000 players from around the world competing for a prize pool of over US$150 million.

Everest Poker is one of the world's most popular poker sites, and was named Poker Operation of the Year in 2007 by industry journal e-Gaming Review.

Under the terms of the deal announced yesterday, Everest Poker will be the sole poker related table sponsor of the WSOP and will enjoy a prominent logo position on the "felt" on every table in the competition as well as exclusive brand positioning on the coveted "inner-rung" of the championship table.

The alliance also includes other prominent onsite visibility at the WSOP, including hanging banners and barricade logos.

I think last year it was Full Tilt Poker the main sponsor, am I right or not? And for Everest Poker, it's gonna be a huge advantage for them that deal. BTW is this a Non US poker room? I guess not :confused:

yes it was partypoker the sponsor not FTP.. FTP has only commercials like Pokerstars..

I'm wondering why a Non US sponsor for the WSOP in US where most players of the field will be from US :confused:

Its the old CYA.
Sponsor allows US players, sponsor comes to vegas with sponsorship presence, promotes site at vegas. DOJ arrests sponsor's reps and holds them indefinitely. Publicize it extensively and hope it moves the death toll among americans in Iraq down the headlines some. In business its called Bait and Switch. In government its called...heck I don't know what to call it without getting put on the do not fly list . But its bad, very bad.
