National Heads Up Poker Championship

The NHUPC starts today at the beautiful Caesars Palace Poker room. This made for television event features 64 players playing heads up in a bracket format until a winner is crowned.

The event features the world's best poker pros, Hollywood celebrities, tow Caesars Palace qualifiers and Pokerstars qualifier Alisha Kunze who will fce off in the first round against last night's WPT winner Phil Ivey.

The prizepool for the heads up championship are as follows:

First place: $500,000
Second place: $250,000
Third & fourth place: $125,000
Fifth - eighth place: $75,000
Ninth - 16th place: $25,000

this sounds great.. are there any kind of tournaments like this one on poker site's?? it wold be nice a hpc heas up tournament

You have to feel bad for Alisha Kunze who won her seat by besting 5000 online players on Pokerstars.net to win her seat. She had a commanding chip lead against Phil Ivey got pocket aces to the pocket kings of Alisha Kunze. Ivey's hand held to bring both players stacks back to even. Kunze was later eliminated when she went racing with pocket 7's to Ivey's J9 and the board came A 10 9 Q J.

yeah i was reading her blog on pokerstars. i was kinda rooting for her since i like the underdog. now my money is mike the mouth.

I was rooting for her as well, If you've read my posts on here, you know I'm a big fan of taking shots. I've come across too many players who fear the big games and I don't understand it. If you take a chance and succeed you can change your life and the lives of your loved ones forever.

i agree but i think a lot of it is the intimination factor. all the lights and cameras scare lots of people.
