Lee Jones leaves Cake Poker

Cake Poker's Lee Jones has stepped down as Card Room Manager of Cake Poker , effective immediately. Jones posted in a thread on TwoPlusTwo around 3:00pm ET on Tuesday, “This is a brief announcement to let you know that, as of yesterday, I have resigned my position at Cake Poker and will not be making any further posts here. Their management has made some strategic decisions with which I’m not comfortable.”

Also leaving Cake Poker with Lee Jones is Serge Ravitch, who as Cake Poker’s Tournament Director. Ravitch posted in the same TwoPlusTwo thread on Tuesday, “It sincerely pains me to say that, for the same reasons, I am also no longer affiliated with Cake in any way. I wish them the best of luck going forward.”

We've heard from several good sources of what these strategic decisions may be but cannot at this time confirm them or give an opinion as there's too many unknowns. We've also tried to get a comment from Cake Poker and have as of this posting heard back from them.

Lee Jones is a stand up guy and a great ambassador for online poker and we wish him the very best in whatever he does in the future. The decision for Ravitch to leave is in our opinion very good for the network. We've been critical of his decisions to cut the guaranteed tournaments after Sportsbook Poker and Players Only left the Cake Poker Network. We felt that if things had stayed the same that the players would have found their way back and the number of players wouldn't have dropped as they have.

most daily tourneys just barely missed their guarantees the first day, then they cut them in half the next day and the exodus was on. Dumb move, he shouldn't have been allowed to leave IMO, he should have been shitcanned for willfully damaging his employer's business.

I really used to like Cake Poker up to about a year ago and I've got my own reasons for not playing there now. I think Lee Jones quitting them doesn't help them. It's always interesting when two people resign a job and there is no mention of them moving into a better position elsewhere. I've always been of the opinion that you don't quit a job unless you have something better lined up. It must have really been a difficult decision and I hope principle doesn't bite Lee in the butt.

kinda feel the same, especialy their $500 min. Haven't deposited there in years, just play off the small amount i left in. Just when i think i'm going to bust my roll and walk away i pull a small win out my arse. Just enough to keep playing but not enough to withdraw.
