| Phil Laak Wins WSOPE Bracelet Phil Laak: Jennifer Tilly's boyfriend, recent ATV accident survivor, marathon cash game player and now WSOP bracelet winner! Phil's first WSOP bracelet came in the World Series of Poker Europe event #1. Event #1 was a £2,650 buyin six-handed no limit holdem affair. The penultimate hand saw Laak holding most of the chips and King-Five. His opponent Andrew Pantling called with his shorter stack holding the Ace-Nine of Hearts. Pantling was ahead all the way until the river with the superior hand, then a 5 dropped on the last card to give Phil Laak the victory worth £170,802 and the much coveted gold bracelet to show off. Phil Laak is known as the "Unabomber" because of his penchant for wearing a hoodie and sunglasses at the poker table resembling a forensic sketch widely circulated during the hunt for Ted Kaczynski the actual Unabomber. He is the face of the new Unabomber Poker site on the growing Cake Poker network. Though lacking that elusive WSOP bracelet until now, Mr. Laak is no stranger to the poker limelight. He has a WPT win from 2004, barely missed his first bracelet in 2005 when Johnny Chan out dueled him in a $2,500 pot limit holdem event. He has appeared on High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark. Recently during the 2010 WSOP he set a short lived Guinness record for the longest poker session. he managed to play 115 hours of poker and even turn a profit doing it. He donated half of his winnings to charity from the event. Following the 2010 WSOP Phil was in a serious ATV accident that could have been life threatening. Less than three months after his scary hospital trip he is now a gold bracelet winner. maybe sporting the Union Jack (flag of Britain) on his arm cast from the accident helped him with the UK-based WSOP Europe. Unabomber Poker is running a promotion based on his recent bracelet win in which you can win a chance to play Phil Laak heads-up for $1,000. Congratulations Mr. Laak and stay at the poker table and not on the ATV trails.

Phil has also made deep runs in two other European tournaments while over there. If this continues, here's no way he doesn't go ATV-ing every summer from now on.
