Doyle Brunson backs Obama for President

In a recent blog post at pokerroad, Doyle Brunson announced his support for Barrack Obama for President.

"During this poker cash game lull, I am on this race for President like stupid is on Britney Spears. I have come to the conclusion that poker players have to support Obama. We can?t possibly let McCain be our President because he supports most of George W. Bush?s views. Hillary has lots of experience but I don?t think she is ready to lead our nation. Imagine her trying to talk to the leaders of the Islamic world? I wish we could have her husband back, but we can?t. Jennifer Harman and I have emailed Obama and asked what his position is on internet gaming. Hopefully we will get a response from his camp."

Could you guys give me an heads-up on the elections? In the Netherlands the media are pretty sure the democrats will win the elections, and the only remaining question is if its either Obama or Clinton.
I am not so sure about that tho, because both times it would be the first time for the US to have a afro-american president or a female president.
McCain on the other hand would be the oldest president ever, so its pretty weird I think.

Dunbar, it's really too early to tell. Most people didn't think Bush would win his re-election and he did. If Clinton and Obama run on the same ticket, then I do think the Dems win, if not, then it's a wide open race at this point.

Being a political science major, I've spent a HELL of a lot of time studying this election, polls, interviews, and such. Here are what I see as the possibilities:

Obama gets the nom. As of right now, he has yet to take a hard stance on any major issue, which has been overlooked. Yet, when the national election comes, and he hasnt, he will not win the presidency. If he does (and I expect he will) end up showing a backbone, he has a strong chance at winning.

Hillary gets the nom. Hillary may be the most polarizing candidate in recent history. Most people either worship her as the chosen one or can't stand to look at her. Because of this, she will push a lot of moderate voters towards McCain.

McCain's biggest issue is his age. If elected, he will be the oldest president to serve a 1st term (Reagan served his 2nd older). I expect the Democratic nominee to point this out, and pound it home. This will make it hard to win the election. He will need to pick a young, well-liked Republican for his VP to have any shot at this presidency.

So, here are the ways I see it. Hillary gets the Democratic nomination: McCain is president. Obama gets the nomination: Obama is president.

I'm not voting for Obama after his preachers speech. Talk about a racist. Now Obama is trying to denounce him even though he attended his services for years. The real truth came out and this will hurt him.

Go Hillary, I can't wait to see Bill as First Lady!
She'll support online poker too!

Queen Elizabeth done a great job with England. So can Hillary.

The Queen has very little if anything to do with the running of the UK, they have a Prime Minister
