| Betsafe joins Ongame Poker Network.
On Tuesday it was announced that Betsafe has officially moved to the Ongame Network. Betsafe previously was part of CryptoLogic Network but an email sent on Monday announced that they would be completing the transition today at 21:00 CET on Jan 4th.
The idea of changing was probably due to the fact that Cryptologic announced they would be merging its online poker rooms with the Boss Network by the end of the first quarter of 2009. The Ongame Network is owned by bwin Interactive Entertainment and their Press Officer commented about the addition of Betsafe to their repertoire, "We feel confident that Betsafe is the right partner for us and we are looking forward to a successful and long lasting partnership. Betsafe has the knowledge and expertise needed and contributes to the liquidity of an interesting customer segment perfectly suited for Ongame Network.”
Since Tuesday Betsafe players could not log into its poker client, 15 minutes later players were drawn out of the tables with all funds in play transferred back into their accounts. Half an hour later the poker room announced it would open its doors officially on the Ongame Network although it actually happenned at 22:00 CET.
More important it is to know that the Ongame Network does not take US poker players.
