On January 4th poker player Vanessa Rousso posted on her Poker Stars blog that she had been asked to be in a photo shoot during her participation at the
Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure in Bahamas by the well-known magazine Sports Illustrated. However, the pictures will not be used in the issue of the magazine and there are no statements on the reason for that.
During an interview with Casino City Times Vanessa gave a lot of details about the photo shoot. She said that she was asked to participate by mid-December so she stayed away from poker to get in shape. "It was a good opportunity for me to see what kind of shape I could get myself into," said Rousso, who said she skipped the Five Diamond World Poker Classic at the Bellagio in order to concentrate on her workout schedule. "Sometimes as a poker player you end up just sitting on your butt all day so this was a nice change of pace. I used it as a motivating factor."
Accordint to Casino City, "It was a lot of fun," said Rousso, who wore a bikini for the shoot. "I did a swimsuit shoot for a poker magazine a few years ago, but this was much different and more revealing. The Sports Illustrated production team went out of their way to make me feel completely comfortable and from what I saw on the day of the shoot, I was real happy with the way the photos came out. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I really enjoyed it."
At the time of the interview Vanessa was not aware that her photos were not going to be used. Sports Illustrated did not offer details on why the photos would not be used and Vanessa has not done so either.
