Playboy Gaming makes decision to shut down

Playboy Gaming, the parent company of Playboy Poker, will shut its doors on January 29th. It is believed that the main reason for this to happen is that the company was having financial problems but there has been no official statment on why this is happening.

This information was received in a customer service email that read “In response to your email, I can confirm that Playboy Gaming will no longer have a poker site and will not be moving to another network.” On the Playboy Poker site there is no statement about this but the news were confirmed to PND by a source in Cryptologic, the network that Playboy Poker belongs to.

Playboy is a well known brand in the United States but outside this niche its name takes a diiferent meaning. When the UIGEA ruling was passed several sites in the United States, such as Playboy Poker, lost their target market and now the consequences are going further.

That reminds me that I need to remove Playboy Poker from the site.
