I caught up with durrrr this morning and asked him flat out, Why issue the challenge? His response was "I'm just trying to get action, I can't get anyone to play me HU at high stakes for more than an hour or two"

I don't call that arrogant, I call that wanting to better yourself.

I wished him good luck and hope to be in touch with him in the coming weeks for an update.

I hope it's televised so I can watch or stremed somewhere on the internet, this would be cool to watch go down. Dont really care who wins but that is alot of money at stake.

actually his challenge is the definition of arrogance

don't get me wrong, I can understand what he is saying about just trying to get a game

thats alot of hands to play , how long would it take to complete it `? I guess they could reach about 120 per hour wich is 1500 per day assuming 12 hours of play , So i guess 33 days of playing poker more than full time. And thats just 1 adversary time it by 4 and he should be done by spring.

Not to mention the staggering amount of money he must put forward to complete all this challenges , 6 million dollar plus money to cover 200000 hands. So i guess he must be pretty sure he can win them in the format he chose. Lose 1 and all the profit is gone from the 3 remaining challenges . Sounds like a recepy to go broke if you ask me.

Ohh and i read hes conditions about a character that was banned from entering this challenge anyone got some info on this and why?

It was Phil OMGclayAiken Galfond he didn't want to play against. I can't remember what he said about it and why, but i recall something about them being friends, and I think he respects him a lot or something.

Yup, they are friends so he doesnt want to play him.

50.000 hands at those stakes is huge, it wont surprise me if someone will be forced to buy out because he loses too much money. I found an interesting article about the swings at the high stakes game:

An interview where he talks about the bet can be found here:
