Drinking Beer earns SunPoker.com player 12,000 Euro

December 3, 2007 ? While most folks don?t need much of a reason to drink ice cold beer in the Caribbean sunshine, Matt Osborne (user name ?Noseyboy? on SunPoker.com), had 12,000 reasons to drink plenty of them in the 2nd annual Beer Pong Championships held in St. Kitts during the 2007 Caribbean Poker Classic (CPC).

SunPoker.com raised the stakes considerably this year by putting up a seat to the EPT Monte Carlo Poker Tournament worth 12,000 Euro. All 32 of the SunPoker.com qualifiers came ready to bounce and drink. The action was fast and furious in the early going, but in the double elimination, and in the Caribbean Heat, the hundreds of beers consumed seemed to become harder and harder to swallow on a full stomach.

?I?ll say this much, the guys from the UK can certainly drink their fair share of beer?, comments Rob Gallo, SunPoker.com?s founder and self appointed Beer Pong Tournament Director. ?And Matt certainly has proven his skills as a true Beer Pong Champion. I guess with the number of pubs in the UK, it?s not a surprise they would have an advantage in any drinking game.?

?We?ve confirmed that this was the biggest prize ever awarded for a beer pong match and it?s going to be even bigger next year,? added Gallo.
?SunPoker.com is all about having fun with our players on and off the poker tables, and this certainly was fun?

Drinking beer was not the only way to win big at the CPC. After all, there was the $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool in the main event of the poker tournament, and as skill would have it, SunPoker.com?s Brian Jensen
(user: MagicBJ) took down the first prize of $237,500.00. Congratulations Brian!

Overall, there was plenty of fun in and out of the poker room, as well as some very memorable moments including an earthquake that shook the Island for 55 seconds, (scary), and the farewell pub crawl which was a great night cap for a week long party in the sun.
