Dunbar wins Event #54 entry from FeltStars

The OFC Live was recently held in Fabulous Las Vegas and Holdem Poker Chat had a team competing. The first event was the OFC Live Warmup. This $50+15 buyin event attracted around 130 players from a wide variety of forums. FeltStars Poker had graciously added a $1,000 seat to Event #54 of the World Series of Poker for the winner. Event #54 of the WSOP starts on July 1, 2010 and is a No Limit Holdem event.

The OFC Live Warmup lasted a staggering 10 hours, but in the end Holdem Poker Chat's very own Dunbar took down the $1,600 first place prize and the bonus entry to WSOP Event #54 from Feltstars Poker. The heads up play was virtually even when Dunbar and Mafioso got it all in preflop. Mafioso revealed 44 while Dunbar held 10-10. A ten on the flop came close to sealing the deal and it held up nicely. This hand left Mafioso with 3,000 chips, not even a big blind. He went all in twice and won to have a bit more chips but it still was not much of a stack so Dunbar readily called his next all in with 10-8. Mafioso tabled A-7 and looked in good shape. The turn card was a ten and hit held up sealing the deal and paying for Dunbar's Las Vegas trip and a nice added bonus.

I am not sure if Dunbar is playing event #54. There were some talks involving the entry and Borgo. We shall see how that pans out tomorrow I guess. But good job Dunbar! And good luck if you play the event. Seriously dude, how often do you get a chance to play for a bracelet?

Dunbar will not be playing event 54. he had previous commitments and decided to sell his seat. I will be playing event 54 along with a few other people. I'll keep everyone posted on who's playing.

I railed D as soon as the final table was formed, and his play was spectacular. He got off some hands that he needed to applied pressure, put his opponents in bad positions to make mistakes, and just dominated. His heads up play was somethign worth watching on video over and over again. Great job D. Now don't tell me tournaments aren't your thing again.

Good to see you got home safe bud. My turn next. Biggest suckout of the trip: I get to go home before Fonzi! Talk about a bad beat for him, eh?

If Dunbar sucks at tournament play then he was hiding it quite well at that warm-up event. I was there railing until wee hours of the morning. Tournament got over around 3:30am Vegas time. Made for a tough morning on Tuesday. He played a great game and he made HPC very proud.

Way to go Dunbar, you done good.
