As the poker world gets ready for the start of the 2010 WSOP we here at Holdem Poker Chat will be bringing you news about the event and more. Each year the WSOP makes a few changes. We found a couple that are talked about below. Now if they can figure out a better way to handle the restrooms during the breaks, that would be great.
Also, there will be seven events with a $1000 buy in this year. WSOP is offering these in hopes of bringing in more players that cannot afford the higher buy-in events. Add $500 to that and you will see fifteen events with a $1,500 buy-in. So to all of the players here at
HPC that will be attending the 2010 WSOP we wish for you good luck, good flops and good skill in all of the events that you play.
Event #2: Fri, May 28th, 5-Day Event
The Poker Players Championship (formerly known as the $50,000 HORSE event). The buy-in will remain at $50,000. The winner not only gets the cash award and a WSOP Bracelet, but will also get the Chip Reese Memorial Trophy. The Players Championship will feature an eight-game mix (Limit Holdem, Omaha High-Low Split-Eight or Better, Razz, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud High-Low Split-Eight or Better, No-Limit Holdem, Pot-Limit Omaha and Deuce-to-Seven Triple Draw Lowball). ESPN will broadcast the final table of this event but only No-Limit Holdem will be played at the final table.
Event #52: Wed, June 30th, 4-Day Event
This is a new one and with it being towards the end I am sure there will be plenty of players entering. This event has a $25,000 buy in and is a six handed no-limit holdem format. This should bring plenty of action all the way to the end.
