News broke that an amateur poker player in Iowa has offered to take over a prop bet that Full Tilt Poker pros Phil Ivey lost to Tom Dwan.
If you have been watching the sixth season of High Stakes Poker you probably know that there was a $1 million vegetarian prop bet between Ivey and Dwan. Ivey agreed to not eat anything that moves for one year but he gave up after just 3 weeks and bought his way out of the bet for $150,000.
After watching this, Mike "Mikey Knuckles" Hall from Iowa, who is a certified BBQ judge (how do people even do that?) with the Kansas City Barbeque Society has released a challenge to Tom Dwan. He claims that he will not eat meat for a year and will lose 45kg (100 pounds) in the process.
What is on the line is that if Dwan loses he must donate $1 million to Hall and $1 million to the Williamsburg Public Library Fund. If Hall loses, he will give up poker and barbeque for a year and he will also hand over his custom built motorcycle to Dwan.
Hall also said that $2 million is a starting point and that he will be happy if Dwan accepts the prop bet for $150,000 so that he has nothing to lose but Ivey's cash. Hall is currently 330 pounds (150kg) and participates in more than 20 BBQ contests every year.
Will Dwan take it?
