The set of rules for the World Series of Poker 2011 has changed a little bit. There are two new notable changes that have already been nicknamed after Phil Hellmuth and Barry Paskin.
One change was made to rule 14 and it players showing up late to the events. According to the new amendment, is a player does not come to take their seat before level 3, their chips will be taken off the table and the buy-in will be deducted from the prize pool. Players will have a chance to ask for their money back by July 17th the latest. This rule is also known as the "Hellmuth Rule" as it means that Hellmuth is going to have to start his grand entrance a lot earlier.
A lot of players are upset about this rule, and I share the feeling, as this gives players a chance to see who is at their opening table and then decide to skip the event if they do not like it AND still get their money back.
Another change was done to rule 37 which states that players must act politely and civil towards other players and the personnel. This rule has now been extended to personal hygiene as well. This implies that if you forget to shower between tournaments the floor can ask you to leave the table.
