WSOP organizers have decided to have 20 seats in the upcoming WSOP Tournament of Champions be filled by online votes open to all poker fans who wish to participate.
The Tournament of Champions only allows WSOP bracelet winners to participate, which means that some of your favorite poker pros, such as Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen or Tom Dwan will be left out. However, there are over 500 nominees that you can choose from.
So far over 180,000 votes have been cast and Harrah's officers stated that all but one of the nominees have all received votes. The results will be revealed when the voting closes on June 15th.
If you are unfamiliar with the format of the WSOP Tournament of Champions, it is a $1,000,000 NL Hold'em freeroll for the invitees. There is also room for two online qualifiers, referred to as "spondor exemptions" - I personally disagree with this.
This year Tom Schneider promised to give half of his winnings to those who vote for him, so what are you waiting for?
