 High Stakes Poker is Back
The popular poker TV Show, High Stakes Poker, is coming back for its fifth season on GSN. Often described as "the best poker show on TV" by many poker experts, the show will be airing again, despite the fact it was cancelled a few times before. High Stakes has showed some of the highest ratings on GSN and is coming back once more. For those who do not know what High Stakes Poker is, let me give you a brief explanation. On past seasons, players like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Jennifer Harman, Doyle Brunson, Barry Greenstein, and Gus Hansen have taken part in the game. The cash game requires the players bring their own money, in cash, for the buy-in. Just so you get a hint of how insane this game is, Daniel Negreanu brought $1,000,000 in cash and held it at the table in $ bricks during the first season. The fifth season of HSP will be shot Dec. 19-21 at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year the cash game will feature a buy-in of $200,000. Despite the thrill of watching this incredible high stakes, watching the show can help you learn a lot of pro tricks and understand the logic behind their moves if you watch carefully. I don't know if it's confirmed, but the rumor on the internetz says it will begin airing February 19th. Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies wrote on his blog that he's flying to Vegas in December to play in this, which is extremly good news. Not only is he one of the best cashgame specialists online, he's also one of the most entertaining players there is. |

I'm not sure about the air date, but the 5th season will be filmed between December 19th and 21st

Any information of the pro's who are going to play this season? Only one I'm 100% sure of is Sahamies. It would be sick if they had a cashgame with him, durrr, Ivey, Gus, Antonius, Benyamine and some other high stakes cashgame players. It would also be interesting to see how Eastgate would do aggainst these players. |

Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Peter Eastgate are likely to be invited. No confirmation though.
