The Pokerstars EPT Berlin gets robbed

An armed robbery by 5-6 men took place today at EPT Berlin. Nobody was seriously injured. Pokerstars hopes to restart all events at 4pm local time. A police investigation is underway. They are asking anyone with video footage or photographs that could help the police to please contact the EPT organizers as soon as possible.

Early estimates have the thieves getting away with roughly €800K. A short video clip posted on youtube shows players and dealers ducking for cover and tables being turned over with chips flying all over the place.

The main event prize money was locked away in the casino safe, but reports say that all the money from the high roller event was out on the casino floor and is now gone.

As always we'll stay on top of this poker heist and bring you more information as it becomes available.

Some more details, Apparently this took place in the Hyatt Ballroom and not in the actual casino and there were only 3 unarmed guards behind the counter where the money was.

There's also a report that the thieves said they had a bomb so they could gain easier access.

The 1k side event has been cancelled and the 1k ladies event seems like it will run, although all the ladies were offered their buyin back if they didn't wish to play.

It is in German, but it doesnt tell anything new. It confirms it took place at the Hyatt. Look at the security guard throwing things at the robbers. wtf?
