I am sure most of you probably followed the Super Bowl this past weekend and you probably know that the New Orleans Saints surprisingly won the game.
It has come to my knowledge that most poker pros and other bettors had their money in for the Indianapolis Colts. The word around the forums is that a lot of money was lost there, including $2 million from Full Tilt Poker Pro, Phil Ivey's pocket at the MGM Mirage Sports Book.
However, the people at the Mirage were not able to verify this officially and Jay Rood, the director of the sports book, only stated that they did take a seven-figure bet on the Colts money line.
However, we are aware that Phil Ivey likes to place big bets on sports as he did in 2008 when he lost $2 million also on Los Angeles Lakers at the NBA finals.
If only us mortals could bet more than a couple bucks on those games... but instead, we may as well sit and watch others lose their money.
